Originating in India over 5,000 years ago, Ayurveda is often referred to as the sister science to yoga. It’s the age-old secret to longevity, digestive health, mental clarity, beauty, and balance that’s regaining popularity today for its tried-and-trued methods.
My favorite translation of Ayurveda is, "Life Wisdom" or "Living Wisdom" because it is more than science and is rooted in the belief system of wholeness and interconnectedness while also recognizing and honoring the uniqueness of life. There is a science of it to understand and it is an art to apply and live the wisdoms in your unique life.

Ayurvedic wisdom has goals of disease treatment, disease prevention, health and longevity, as well as spiritual liberation and bliss. By seeing each individual as a whole (body, mind, and spirit), with a unique nature (prakruti), one can apply the wisdom to their specific imbalance (Vikruti), at this time (age, season, day), in their environment (geographical region, doshas, and gunas).
