Kyle's Coaching Story

My story of becoming a coach begins one week before my 7th birthday... Sadly at that time my older brother Ryan, at age 9, was killed in a hit and run car accident. That picture above is one of the last pictures of me and Ryan together. (Kyle in red, Ryan with guitar)

As my older brother, Ryan was naturally a mentor in my life. Losing him unexpectedly one week before my 7th birthday, and just hours after we were playing trucks in the driveway after church was shattering to say the least.

I struggled for many years as an adolescent, teenager, and young adult seeking to fill the brotherly mentorship void in my life from his physical absence. Thankfully I realized as a young adult I wasn't alone in that desire and that while I seek mentorship I can also be a mentor to others who seek that out as well.

I've been blessed to be able to live that out professionally as an after school mentor, a football coach, a PE teacher, an academic advisor, and now a life coach.

My coaching philosophy is rooted in these core beliefs and principles:

  • Be a Mentor Leader: engage, educate, equip, encourage, empower, energize, and elevate

  • Spirituality: belief that we are spiritual beings having a physical experience

  • Holistic: our reality is made up of our body, mind, and spirit

  • Ayurveda: universal principles used to address unique individuals, as they are, in this moment

  • "Live Your Wisdom": You have everything you need inside of you. I guide you to relate to it and live it.

  • You are not broken or need to be fixed.

  • Fulfillment is about balance

By integrating my 13 years of coaching experiences, Master's Degree in coaching, and Ayurveda training I have come up with a diverse range of modalities I use as a Life Coach to support you in living purposefully:

  • Appreciative inquiry

  • Motivational interviewing

  • Emotional intelligence

  • Compassionate communication

  • Ayurvedic assessments: physical, functional, and mental

    • Providing personalized lifestyle, nutritional, & mindset recommendations

  • Mindfulness and meditation

  • Breathwork and pranayama

  • Affirmations and manifestation

  • Self-authorship and journaling

  • Goal setting and tracking

  • Moon cycle divination practice

  • Experienced based education

  • Basic astrology

Through my own spiritual practice and pursuit of purpose I've been blessed to be nurtured and guided by others. During this process the biggest impact on relating to, and living, my purpose has been my relationship to my intuition, my spirit, mySelf, my higher power, and ancestry.

Personally I have found I live purposefully by being nurturing, transformational, and relating. I am passionate about relationships, spirituality, ancestry, learning, growing, encouraging, justice, sustainability, travel, and adventure.

I'm currently traveling and living full-time out of a DIY converted cargo van with my partner. Follow along on Instagram and YouTube for my adventures and coaching tips.
